It is a privilege to stand again to represent
the people of St Brelade.
Our parish is a beautiful part of the island, well served with good
infrastructure and excellent amenities. Most importantly, we have
a close-knit and caring community—something we all value and
must preserve.
However, life has becoming harder for many residents. Jersey is
increasingly expensive, and for many, salaries and pensions have
not kept pace with that cost.
Over the past 5 years, my Reform Jersey colleagues and I have
taken decisive action to put more money back into the pockets
of working families and pensioners. We have led the way by
reducing GP costs, rolling out more free childcare, hot school
meals, and targeted help with back-to-school costs. We have
extended Pension Plus to more retirees, and we plan to do more.
To deliver good public services, we need to maintain a strong,
sustainable and diversified economy – one that meets the
needs of islanders now and in the future. For me, this will mean
supporting and developing all our industries, looking for new
opportunities and creating a more efficient and effective public
sector.
However, some areas still need urgent attention. Jersey’s Ferry
Service is one of them. Evidence received by my scrutiny panel
found that the new ferry contract has significantly increased the
cost of living, the wider economy and had a significant negative
on people’s lives.
My Priorities
- Modernise government administration, especially in
healthcare, to improve outcomes.
- Revisit the Ferry service provision to reduce freight
costs and improve inter-island travel/St Malo travel.
- Reform enforcement policy at the planning
department.
Why vote for me?
“I have the experience, energy and commitment
to be an effective States Member—one who builds
consensus across the political spectrum and who
delivers results. Working as a team, alongside
fellow candidate John Young, and my other Reform
Jersey colleagues, we will provide the listening and
responsive leadership that Jersey deserves.”
