This Cookie Policy explains how Reform Jersey (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on reformjersey.je. It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice.
Reform Jersey is the data controller for the information collected through cookies on this site. We are registered with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner under registration number 61922.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to help site owners understand how their site is being used. “Similar technologies” in this policy includes browser storage (such as localStorage), which works in a comparable way.
Your choices
When you first visit this site we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. You can choose “Accept all” or “Reject analytics”. Strictly necessary and functional cookies are set regardless, because the site cannot work properly without them.
You can change your decision at any time by clearing the rj_consent cookie in your browser, or by using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop parts of the site from working as expected.
Cookies and storage we use

|---|---|---|---|
| rj_locale | Remembers your language preference. | Strictly necessary (first-party) | 1 year |
| rj_utm | Captures referral parameters (UTM tags) so we can attribute joins, donations and sign-ups to the campaign that brought you here. | Functional (first-party) | 30 days |
| rj_consent | Records your choice on this cookie banner. | Strictly necessary (first-party) | 6 months |
| rj-theme | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. Stored in browser localStorage, not a cookie. | Functional (first-party, localStorage) | Until you clear it |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes unique visitors and sessions so we can measure how the site is used and improve it. | Analytics (third-party, Google) | Up to 2 years |
| PayPal cookies | Set only on the donation flow once you start a payment. Used by PayPal for fraud prevention and to complete the transaction. | Third-party (PayPal) | Set and managed by PayPal |
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are only set if you click “Accept all”. If you reject analytics, no Google Analytics scripts or cookies are loaded.
Google may process data outside Jersey, including in the United States, under appropriate data transfer safeguards. You can read Google’s privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your rights
You have the right to be informed about how your personal information is used, to access it, to ask for corrections, to ask us to stop or restrict processing, and to complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner. See our Privacy Notice for the full list.
You can lodge a complaint with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner at jerseyoic.org.
