Q.1 Why does Jersey need a political party?

A. People achieve more when they work together as a team. Parties are able to put a joint manifesto to the electorate before an election so when you vote for a party member you know you are also voting for their manifesto pledges. It's less about personalities, and more about policies.

Q.2 Do you support our Finance industry?

A. Yes. The finance industry is a vital part of our economy and employs around 13,000 people. Our detractors like to portray us as anti-finance but that simply isn't true. We support an ethical and moral finance industry that complies with international standards and obligations.

This leads to policies that favour, for example, wealthy people at the expense of poor people. That then leads to voter apathy. If the system becomes fairer then that will result in policies that benefit all islanders.
